Quick, get some Emerald Nuts! Kenny G and Robert Goulet must be in cahoots!

It wouldn't surprise me. I've been on hold 18 minutes so far and it shows no sign of changing.

18 minutes of Kenny G and you haven't been driven mad? That has to be some sort of record.

25 minutes. Then I hung up and went to lunch. -.-

I need to get the electricity turned on, ya bozos! *shakes fist at VA Power*

Holy crap. That's pretty scary stuff!

After we came back from lunch, out of pity, I called Dominion VA Power to try again. I waited 8 minutes before someone picked up. What I hadn't realized before is that it's not just a tape of Kenny G. It's a 60 second portion of one of his songs, interrupted by a voice coming on to tell us how important our call is to them, after which the same 60 second portion of the same song starts over again, followed by the same voice 60 seconds later. Repeat ad nauseum.

If you really care about us, why are you torturing us?!

Then I did speak to someone who had a very bad cold and laryngitis. -.-

Ah, the classic "annoy them 'til they hang up" routine. Reminds me of the time I was on hold and the phone system had two different "your call is important" messages that ran at different intervals.

Technically, they only care about your money and how it might become theirs. The torture's just an experiment to see how much you'll tolerate.

Actually, he probably should send some of those to the power company. They're probably all asleep listening to Kenny G. ;)

...I like Kenny G.
Feb. 26th, 2007 05:52 pm (UTC)
Aww! I'm just teasin'. :) But I suspect even you would get tired of the same 45-second loop from "Songbird" over and over and over and over and over and over and over for half an hour...

If you're a big rig, you'll fall asleep immediately, dumping your racecar client onto the interstate.

Clarinets? He's branched out to defile other instruments now? WE MUST PUT AN END TO THIS!
Feb. 26th, 2007 07:03 pm (UTC)
But... But... He doesn't play clarinet!

Don't be scared of my instrument! *sad puppy eyes*
Feb. 26th, 2007 07:05 pm (UTC)
Well what is it, then? It sounds like a clarinet...

Feb. 26th, 2007 07:11 pm (UTC)
A soprano sax (his primary instrument) can sound like a clarinet on a good day. :P

Thank you,...
Being a Clarinetist myself, that was my first reaction. Kenny G. doesn't play the clarinet. Having seen him in concert once, he plays all manner of Saxophone and he does it well, but but but... Clarinets are a wooden instrument as opposed to the metal sax.

Thanks Ski for doing that.. I don't feel so alone in the world with that reaction!

If you wish to simulate a Kenny G performance, do the following:

1. Take a massive dose of quaaludes.
2. Immerse yourself head first into hot tub filled with rancid tapioca.
3. Fart.

The effect you have will be much the same.

Whoa, harsh!

I sure hope athelind didn't see that.
