Jonesin' Fer Some Gamin'

As much fun as I've had with FBA! and sirfox's Furry D&D, I have found myself looking wistfully at my Complete X books, miniatures of various types, and of course the current scenario in my D&D game and wondering when the heck it's going to happen again.

We last played this in what, November? And I'll be surprised if we do before April.

Being a grown-up sucks sometimes. :P

Ulf the Adequate can't seem to stop drinking that magical wine...
You know... I was just thinking something like that yesterday. I -really- miss the gaming nights.

It almost makes me wish we could just get together on AIM or IRC or something similar and have a "real time game"

Then again, there are a -ton- of "play by e-mail" type of games out there too...

We could try "gaming via webcam and speakerphone" sometime, perhaps! :)

I keep saying...
Writing an IRC script that mimics 3.5, I could possibly do with a couple weeks of work (and a cameo of my character in SJ? :P ) --- everyone could assemble in IRC and you could run the game that way with the script...

No need. There is already Open RPG, a Python based chat and gaming system that allows people to role play over the internet, complete with dice rolls. I have some friends of mine that use it to play Spycraft, but it could be easily adapted for D&D or other gaming systems.

I also know that there is a MUCK that is solely RPG. Also, I know on FurryMUCK, we are working on setting up a RPG gaming area in the gaming complex KensterFox and I built. Also, in place on a MUCK call Spindizzy (muck.spindizzy.org 7072) there is a location called Fen's Inn that is already set up for RPGs including a dice system and the like.

And if you need more possible players, I like real time RPGs.. I'd give it a go.

Oooh... Yuan-Ti (before they were called Yuan-ti?) always rock. Or are they not called "serpent men" in this one. Heh.

Do the old games translate well into 3.5? When they were first written I'm sure they had no idea what kinds of turns and twists the game would take.

I know the feeling..
Too bad you don't live closer, I'm sure Melchar would let you join our weekly Saturday games. Also, I don't know how you feeling about Bulletin Board based RPGs, but Melchar runs a bunch of different systems on the web. The address there is www.boojumbunny.com/forums and you can take a look. It is a private site, but sometimes the games are an interesting read.

I don't think I could stand to go too long without a D&D game anymore, being an adult or not. I'd also love to hear some of your D&D experiences, just a lively fellow you are!

Hey, why not combine a housewarming party with a gaming session?
