Today was Phone Day. Went to the Verizon Wireless store and bought a new cellphone. I didn't want to particularly, but my previous one had pretty much stopped working, anywhere. Apparently the antenna was more broken than I thought it was. Now I've got a new one that's all black and gadgetey looking. I didn't really care for any of the choices ... I liked my lil' Kyocera, even if it was always iffy getting ringtones for it. It was still a "friendly" phone, which the new one isn't. The new one is a "sleek, elegant" phone. Bleah.

Then we went to Home Depot and, on the advice of a very thoughtful Verizon tech who didn't want to charge us $90 for 10 minutes' work, bought a new phone jack to fix the "no signal getting through" problem we'd been having since moving in here. At first it didn't work, but that was because I didn't realize that for the type of jack we bought, we needed to strip some of the wiring in order to connect to the terminal. (The old jack was a "pinch" type, whereas the new one just had screw-down terminals.)

So now we can be harassed by sales calls again. Hooraaaaay. But more importantly, we can call for pizza, which is what we did this evening. ^.^

laurie_robey spent some time today working out in the yard, as well, and I did a little more cleaning up around the studio. Still a long way to go, but we're gettin' there.

G'nite, world. :) Have an awesome tomorrow.

That's so sad! My first Verizon phone, an LG VX10, still works. I have to turn in on ever so often (hasn't been charged in a year, but it stays off all the time) to get a phone number.

The current one I have, the LG VX6100, still works just fine but since I get a new phone anyway...I'll just use it as a backup in case of total phone failure.

somewhere I still have my 2nd phone..
which was a brick rebuild...I traded it in on a flip phone in 2000...

I have a refurb LG VX4500, which was quite spiffy for 2004, but I've gotten used to it and it works for me! Sadly, Gneech is right--these phones have about a 2 year shelf life if you use them every day....
