The Awful Truth About "The Awful Truth"

In the realm of Cary Grant movies, I can see why this one doesn't get as much play. It's uninspired, with sloppy writing, lackluster performances, and no small amount of idiot-balling. Even Ralph Bellamy's broad portrayal of The Rustic Oil Man From Oklahoma comes off more forced than anything, and he's quickly shooed offstage halfway through the movie and never seen again anyway.

Oh well. They can't all be The Philadelphia Story, I guess!

One of my favorite CG movies is off the beaten path...
even though it's a bit of a melodrama---In Name Only...Cary Grant, like many of his time (and Michael Caine in ours) will/would make movies just for the dinero!

And there's some stars in movies that the only explanation has to be a bar bet after one too many shooters. ;)
