The Trouble With Harry (Potter 7)

Everybody's going to devour it, post their reviews behind cuts to avoid spoilers, and finish all discussion long before I get the chance to even start reading it.

Le sigh.

FWIW, the books are actually much better than the movies are. :)

At least until Order of the Pheonix, that may be the exception that makes the rule (as it was a lousy book but I hear made a decent movie).

Poor Gneech! *pet*

Think of it this way... the hardcore nitpickers will have gotten it out of their system by the time you're ready to discuss the book!

And is anyone ever through discussing HP on the intarweb?

read_hp was established back in Feb/Mar as a reading group to go chapter-by-chapter thru six books leading up to the release of book seven. They've just set up the schedule for chapter-a-day discussion starting July 30. Not sure if they are taking a no-read-ahead-spoilers stance, or a hey-this-foreshadows-a-later-chapter spoiler stance though.

I'll let you know what their reply is.

"going to devour it"? I was done (very) early yesterday morning.

I don't generally post book reviews or even discuss books much, though...

Don't feel bad....I haven't started book one yet.

I still have 18 books in the Xanth series to read before I'll start the Potter series...

As fair warning, because I like you, and you've seemed to keep your head about during this whole mess...

Don't read my journal for the next little while.

XD

I've been running everyone away and they're crying. I'm only past chapter two and they're wondering why I'm posting stuff that may or may not be considered spoilers when there are people who haven't read the book yet. And this is coming from people who HAVE finished it, and know what it is I'm posting about.

So.

<3. Save the integrity and stay away. I'm in a crazy mood. :D

I finished it in 32 hours. That included some sleep and taking time off to go help Teh unload some desks into the storage unit. My problem is that no one on my friends list has finished the book yet. My parents won't read it and my sisters & brother haven't finished it yet so I have no one to discuss it will. The fan sites that I expected to have lots of discussion by now haven't or are so buried they won't load for me. The LJ communities that I like have gone off line until today sometime and when they finally get back they'll be so overwhelmed the moderators will want to throw in the towel.

So I am considering starting it again and reading it a bit slower to pick up more of what I might have missed the first time through.

I'm looking forward to when you do get a chance to talk about it. I figure it'd be interesting to see the point of view of a writer.

Whitiger, if you ever want to discuss it. I'm available. n_n

Here's my spoiler - on the last page, the word "the" is used. Well, at least I think it is. My younger cub read it and gave me the highlights, which suprised me that Harry Potter and his friends would use peyote and decide to open up a macrame' studio. Not how I expected the end to be;)

Re: ;)
Maybe it was _Neko_ that was using peyote and decided to open a macrame' studio. I did hear a rumor that this book is the last book but I think they left a part unsaid "...for 2007".

S'ok, I won't be getting around to reading it myself for a month or two... I'm looking forward to it as well, but I'm not gonna die if I don't get it on the first day, and I really do have my plate full right now.

I've got a LOT of writing to get done before I can start into a stack of books waiting to be read

May I join your club? I had it brought to me in the hospital, but lately I only have one hand to hold reading material with...and that thing's a damn treekiller, lol!
