Snagged from kelloggs2066: Wild, Wild Adam West.

There was a very convincing "Adam West Batman" at Dragon*Con, actually...

Thank you both for the giggle. I needed that, although I've been watching The Muppets all weekend, so I suppose I've been laughing since Friday.

My family lived in Goleta-Santa Barbara CA in the 60's. I loved Batman when I was a little kid, but I cringe when I watch the show or the movie now.

I remember all the press the show got when they filmed the famous "Sometimes you just cant get rid of a bomb" scene for the Batman movie on the Santa Barbara pier in 1966-7.

HEY! When did Kano & the Green Hornet team up with Batman & Robin?!? I saw them in that clip near the end! Holy YouTube, Gneech-Man!

I seem to recall it was a Batman episode intended as a "stealth pilot" for the GH series.

Really? Thats cool. I didn't know that. GH & Kano were freakin' awesome, but thats because Bruce Lee was the bomb.

I seem to recall that Bruce Lee objected to the story.

He thought he should kick Robin into the ground.

Yes, well, Bruce Lee was a martial artist; Burt Ward was a gymnast. The only other real martial artist on the show was Yvonne Craig, as I recall.

But the various actors' actual fighting ability was more or less irrelevant, considering the subject matter! Something I'm not convinced Bruce Lee got. ;)

I agree. Bruce Lee should have wiped the floor with Robin. It might have made Robin become a ninja sooner. ;) Seriously, you can't swing a dead cat in a DC and/or Marvel comic nowadays without hitting a ninja.

Funny thing is, I remember hearing this song back in 1989 and never again since then.

At the time, people were wondering if the Michael Keaton Batman movie was going to be any good.

Up to that point, I'd never actually read any of the comic books, and didn't realize that Batman was a broody, angsty character. The movies started bringing that part out, and frankly, none of the Batman movies Batmobiles were anywhere near as cool as Adam West's Batmobile.

So, if you were wondering about the line
"Will batfans care that Batman is also Mr. Mom?"
That's what that was about.

It's all been a Batbomb for me. ;)
