Star Trek Trailer

Here:

Thelma, Louise, and Jim Kirk?

Reserving my judgment until I see what they've done with it; so far I'm not keen on a lot of what I've seen, but it's largely superficial stuff that may turn out not to matter.

Errrr ..

I felt more like I was watching some Bond movie rather than a star trek one!

*twitch* Err... I'll take a DS9 or Voyager movie, hell, even an ENTERPRISE movie over what it looks like this is gonna be. Put Rick Berman back in charge, I'll accept him over Y.A.G.S.F. (Yet Another Generic Sci Fi)

I agree with this, in fact Enterprise was actually rather good, so long as you forget what came before, Rick was never good working within someone else's rules, but when he cut loose on his own, good show, different, not canonical, but quite a fun and interesting show.

I'd certainly prefer a DS9 movie, i'd love to see that story continued. This sadly i don't think it going to be very good, looked like a stereotypical action flick, plus the changes they made, 1701-A? How's that work? And the interior looks very little like the original, then there's the actors, something just looks off about Spock. I don't have much hope that this'll be a good flick.

No, I'm sorry, Enterprise was not.

Wait, isn't Kirk supposed to be from like Indiana or somesuch midwestern place? Not a lot of deserts and canyons in those parts.

Arrgh and what a waste of a vintage automobile!!! I choose to believe it was replicated.

Dr. Gillian Taylor: Don't tell me, you're from outer space.
Kirk: No, I'm from Iowa, I only work in outer space.

If you look again, it was a quarry that the Vette plunged to it's doom into.

Good thing it did, too, or else Decker might have had to hunt it down. He doesnt like replicants much.

Deliver us all from the New Origin Story. It doesn't always make a bad movie, but just once I would like to see a character revived for the modern big screen without ever showing us his childhood and how he got to the place we know him in.

It looked better on the big screen as a trailer for James Bond... which was an "okay" movie.

Rick Berman? You Have Got To Be Kidding! Berman and Bragga KILLED Star Trek with "Enterprise" The last season with Manny Coto and the Stevens' was the only redeeming thing that came along. B&B didnt even use "Star Trek" in the title during the first season [/rant]

I agree about the ship, this is supposed to be the 1701. Not -A, not even -a (little A) It should appear as the original, with maybe slight alterations, as this was the ship Jimmy inherited from Christopher Pike. Maybe they will even have the old "SawBones" onboard getting to retire for McCoy :)

About the trailer.. at first I thought it was for Avatar:Last Airbender , even after the kid said "James Tiberius Kirk"

Not Thelma and Louise, but "Rebel Without A Cause"

Feh. Their version of Spock makes the old Dr. McCoy look like a stoic.
