Back on Earth

Got back from AC around 4:00, climbed upstairs and passed out for a couple of hours. I had a great time at the con, and sales were overall better than expected. The only unhappy thing about the weekend really was last night in the Zoo, when someone had mixed alcohol, drugs (type unknown), and neurotic attacks, and ended up being taken out semi-comatose on a stretcher, with her uncooperative companion being escorted along in handcuffs. A few furs who are EMT's in their daily life jumped in to assist, while a few of the others of us on the scene assisted with crowd control and general "please-disperse-nothing-to-see-here"-ing. Unfortunately, at any sort of gathering of this size, there is a certain amount of inevitability to such scenes; I just hope no permanent damage has been done, although I doubt I'll ever find out either way.

On the artistic front, my output at this con was something of a mixed bag. Some of the pieces I did, I felt were quite good given the venue, but I still have a tendency to be very rough and sketchy. Everyone who got some art seemed pleased with it, however, which of course I was glad to see. I also had a lot of people whom I'd rarely or never spoken to come up and tell me how much they enjoyed SJ and wish me luck on getting back on schedule. As I told them, the good news on that front is that the big project I've been working so hard on for the past few months finally got turned in (at least for the initial round) this past week, so hopefully that will free up my mental bandwidth (and my weekends!) for some creative work again.

There was also some progress re: NeverNever, which sorely needs attention. Most of my projects have basically been "on hold" since Further Confusion, so there wasn't that much new for me to cover with my co-conspirators, but it was still good to touch base and make sure we were all on the same page.

And now, back to work. Alas! But let's hope for a nice con bounce. :) Productivity would be a nice change. ;)

Hey there Gneech!

I was nice to see ya in the dealer's , I bought Love Bites for a friend at school. Gave it to him today and he really seemed to like it ^^

About the drugs people , it may sound weird but me and Kevin and all of the group actually WONDERED when something would happen.
Not that we wished for it or anyhing , but the con had been EXTREMELY drama-free up until the time I left. In fact , for me it WAS drama-free since I was already gone when that happened.

Plus last news I had gotten from AC was that Regi and Kal had officialised their union in the zoo , which I thought was absolutely cute ^^

Sorry I'm rambling :P

In any case , I'm glad to hear that sales were good , and hope to see ya again soon. Actually , I'm considering going to maybe another con .. but that's a big maybe.

I'm not bonk, i'm phil phoglio.

I hope that girl is okay.

I wonder how one o'clock went. Word went out around midnight that all conspace was shutting down at 1 am. (probably hotel reaction to afformentioned event) I was off to bed about 12:30, but part of me did want to stay up and watch a convention full of nonconformists be told to go to their rooms.

Overall, i rate the con on the positive side.
