Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo

Speaking of Lee Van Cleef...

The greatest epic of the American west ever filmed entirely on location in Italy.

Or something like that.

-The Gneech

PS: Actually, it's a damn good film. But loooooooooooooong. And the weird thing is, it's a prequel to the other two.

The Good.. The Bad..... and then there was Ugly
My youngest brother loves this film, and the part that Eli Wallach played (Ugly).

His favorite Eli Wallach line is, "If you're going to shoot. SHOOT! Don't talk."

Me... I like a good old fashion John Wayne movie (Except for Hatari - Never cared for that film even if the music is memorable).

Now... Where's Lee Van Cleef's watch? I had it around here, ..., somewhere.

Actually filmed entirely in Spain, but still...
Read into how they had to blow up the bridge twice!
That epic explosion with all the debris is actually take-two. :)

Twice?

Wow... that's an expensive reprise at the time.

For those that havent seen it... here is the bridge scene.
Pay special attention to the large chunk of rock/wood that narrowly misses Clint on the right.

Wow!
One fell just behind him, then it looks like 2 hit the sandbag beside him. You can see his feet move from being hit.

Imagine, Dirty Harry killed by a cheap explosion in a 2-bit movie ;)

I love a bit of Ennio Morricone. This one is my favourite!

And that's why it's called a spaghetti Western. There were a TON of them made at that time. Cost considerations, I think.

I still think "My Name is Nobody" rates well up there.

Not to mention we REALLY begin to see Henry Fonda's face falling apart from age.

... Did you know he [Fonda] could never memorize his lines? He always worked from Que. cards. Just watch his performance as an Admiral in the movie MIDWAY (shown in SensorRound). Watch his eyes.. he's reading the cards.

Yes, but I think the morals of the story are worth remembering. :)

My Name is Nobody is one of my favorite films. While the soundtrack may not be as well-known as some of Morricone's other works, it also is one of my favorites. Gotta love how he worked Wagner into it.

As for morals, I've always rather liked the line "The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it."

The one I try to keep in mind (although you're right, that one is very good), is "when you're in shit up to your nose, keep your mouth shut."
