Shoulda Known THAT Was Too Good to Be True

Well, so much for my free Monday; my dad can't put weight onto his left leg, so we have to schlep him over to Kaiser Permanenté. Without knowing more, I don't know how big this is going to be, but it's certainly going to wipe out anything I may have thought of doing after 4:00.

Not his fault of course; it's not like he wants to be needing rides to the hospital all the time. He's just, y'know, old, and frail, and been kicked around a lot by life.

We did manage to get out and do that sketching I was talking about earlier, but the results were less-than-worthy. The sunshine was warm enough, but there was a nonstop cold breeze that blew stuff around and froze up my fingers, so I'd barely finished one sketch before I was like "Okay, nevermind!" and we headed home. I also neglected to take a straightedge, which is something absolutely vital to have if you're going to be trying to draw buildings and such.

So ... not sure what I'm going to do with the afternoon. I'd like to feel like I accomplished something today, but I have no idea what I can do before it's time to get food and then go play ambulance.

Well, as close to okay as he gets at his age. :)

You don't need straight edges to draw buildings... you just need to be drawing more interesting buildings. For example, Spaniards in Barcelona live in mortal fear of straight lines.
