Yes! A horror movie that isn't about yet more blood being splashed around!

Nah, this is Lovecraft. The monster trying to eat your face is not half as dangerous as the truths it's trying to hide from you.

I bought a copy of HP Lovecraft's compendium "Bloodcurdling tales" about 6 months ago. Flipped through a few pages , then brought it home. Had weird dreams for the next week. I don't think I'll ever read this book!!! :)

Yeah.. the thing I love most about Lovecraftian stuff is that you know from the beginning that they're all doomed. Also that I would say a majority of the actual damage is done by your friends and colleagues; the evil beings or what have you just clean up the mess left behind by the adventurers scrapping it out.

There's a Lovecraftian LARP that runs, or used to run around here. Most games, out of 5-20 PCs, one or two max survived, mostly done in by other PCs. The longest-running character I know of turned into an evil worse than the thing that made her by the end of her PC lifespan; she came back once or twice as a npc but I don't think she was ever beaten.
