And D&D Takes Another Hit.

There go the miniatures. Not surprised, given how quiet the line has been, but still disappointed. My purchases from WotC now consist of Dungeon Tiles and Gamma World, and there’s only so long those can sustain.

Also of, er, interest(?) in the same article: the website stops pretending to be Dragon magazine, and the addition of collectible cards as a core mechanic (not kidding).

I hate seeing a great legacy botched like this. :( But at least there’s still Pathfinder!

Luckily my local Compleat Strategist carries many mini lines featuring individual minis I can use for a particular character plus the usual monsters rather than buying an opaque box of random minis.

Gave up on any more D&D with the advent of Essentials. The 4th Ed works VERY well. Essentials, from what I was told, is ever closer to a minis game. No thank you.

To me Gamma World is a beer and pretzel, fast and fun board(ish) game. Describing your game systen as 'wacky' says it ain't serious. I played once and it is fun and fast. If I want serious I'll dig out the three older editions I have.
