And D&D Takes Another Hit.

There go the miniatures. Not surprised, given how quiet the line has been, but still disappointed. My purchases from WotC now consist of Dungeon Tiles and Gamma World, and there’s only so long those can sustain.

Also of, er, interest(?) in the same article: the website stops pretending to be Dragon magazine, and the addition of collectible cards as a core mechanic (not kidding).

I hate seeing a great legacy botched like this. :( But at least there’s still Pathfinder!

Are you talking about the little cut out sheets (special weapons, armor, etc.) they used to have for the various living campaigns (Not just LFR)?

If so, that's neat, that's how my Mon Calamari scout finally got his ship in the Living Force campaign they used to have a few years back.

Sort of. They revised those when 4e came out and the new LFR dropped. They made these long cards that had that effect: special races, abilities and quest chains that you could get. You could have 2 cards to start, and gained a new one every X levels. I used mine to let me play an unusual race (kenku) and give him access to some magic not normally allowed in LFR.
