It's been a while since I listened to anything new from Mr. Yankovic so thanks for sharing this with us.

An American friend insists on emailing me BS "morality" tales about some arsehole(s) who end up embracing God and thus being absolved of their sins and becoming boring arseholes. Despite my constant assertion he stops sending me that shit, it keeps on coming. Next time he does it I will send him this link!

I was thought Weird Al was great, but he just became the most brilliant person I know. I that was classic! :D -Frisk

I'm one of those wierdos that's been saying for years that Weird Al is at his best when he's doing his own stuff and not parodies.

This song proved that I've been right all along :)

He can do very well by himself. He can also do very well with parody - though he needs to have material worth something to start with and that is increasingly rare. (And isn't this tune at least a bit reminiscent of Don't Stand So Close To Me?)

The tune is actually Meat Loaf, "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All"

I don't know, I didn't care for any of his original stuff in the 2006 album, but then again, compared to some of his other albums Straight Outta Lynwood was weak anyway.

Indeed. Had an acquaintance a few years ago that would send me all sorts of hoaxes and godspam. I started replying with the appropriate Snopes articles, and implied that the only ones who benefited from spreading such lies were those who swore allegiance to the Father of Lies.

It worked. ;)

I remember getting a net hoax a few years back that, to prove that it's real dammit, a link to the Scopes article busting the e-mail.
