Floating Around

I'm in a strange state of mind today. Mentally speaking, I'm just sorta floating, my attention wandering around from one topic to another, passively receiving ideas that bubble up out of my subconscious, but committing to none of them.

Riddle: Why is The Gneech like a rock at the top of a hill?

Answer: We've both got nothing but potential.

Okay, that was lame, I admit it. :) And now, some stuff about Suburban Jungle.Collapse )
The Good News
Jay, my informal Wing Chun sifu, finally e-mailed me back. He's been to China and met Grandmaster Ip Ching! That's way cool. I'm hoping to arrange a refresher session or two with him sometime in the near future. He also still works at what remains of LifeMinders, now owned and operated entirely by Cross Media. Alas, LifeMinders had the potential to be so cool, but was killed by the myopic obsession to get rich quick. But either way, Jay is cool. :)

Some More Good News
I got my tips today, and they were really good! Enough to pay for a tres swanky meal on Sunday to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Laurie's and my first date, and still have some left over. Some of it was because we were so insanely busy, and some of it was because one of our partners got canned because he kept being a no-show, so he didn't get a share.

Still More Good News
I got my schedule for next week today, and it's much better. I am generally going in at 7:30 a.m. or later instead of diabolically early, and I have two days off together, Tuesday and Wednesday. Woohoo! :)

And One Last Bit...
I came up with draft strips of new SJ for after the hiatus is finished. Leonard is evolving ... it'll be interesting to see where it goes. I may also bring back Glory for this storyline; she's never had much of a chance to make an impression.

That's all for tonight. See you tomorrow!
