Rumors of My Promotion Have Only Been Slightly Exaggerated

Well, I was told by the head of the I.T. department here that I would be "moving to the web team soon," so it is apparently as official as it can get without having paperwork done on it. It will also involve moving to a cubicle I'd rather not move to, out in the middle of everything with no cover whatsoever -- my absolute least favorite type. At least the one I'm in now only has 90 degrees of exposure. :( On the other hand, I would imagine that having a real, honest-to-goodness I.T. job would pay more than the Office Lackey pay I'm getting now, which would be a good thing. :)

Cause for Bounciness!

Three very nice things happened related to my cartooning today...

  1. I got an unsolicited and quite unexpected compliment on the "new" Jim and on the character redesigns in general from another cartoonist whom I respect and admire. :)

  2. I found some more of the GOOD bristol! =)

  3. I picked up a copy of Animating the Looney Tunes Way by Tony Cervone, the Director of Warner Brothers Animation (or at least, he was when he wrote the book, I have no idea if he still is). I can never have too much of this kind of thing, and while this book is quite small compared to some others (only 95 pages), it looks like it's packed with good stuff. Interestingly enough, Tony Cervone bears a certain physical resemblance to John Nunnemacher.

Anyway, tonight I've got to get level_head's package ready to send, and maybe even get some drawing and a workout done, so I can't dilly-dally around here! (Or is that lollygag?)

Catcha later!

Oops! Miscalculation!

Hmm ... due to a error on my part (like, not paying attention), I've been misleading everyone about the "Marble Halls" pic. I thought it was 11x14, turns out that it's only 8.25x12 (originally 9x12, less trimming out of the sketchbook) ... so the auction I listed was erroneous, and the matte I bought to put the pic in is the wrong size. D'Oh!

Alas, I'm going to end up stiffing poor level_head by 55 square inches of artwork! That's okay, I'll just include a few little bonus pieces that I suspect he'll like.

Sorry about that, LH! But you'll get your auction's worth. ;)
