Boromir battle

DnD 3.5e (gaming geekery)

The new issue of Dragon magazine has the new, improved ranger class stats, which have been the subject of much discussion over on the ENWorld message boards. It looks pretty good to me; certainly gives the ranger a bit more flavor across his whole career, instead of making him a "take 1 level then switch to fighter" class.

The big news is that Code Monkey Publishing, the folks in charge of E-Tools these days, have announced August 24th as being the date that 3.5 data is released. This was the big sticking point for me and changing systems, but Code Monkey has a good reputation and they are doing it as a labor of love (they created PCGen before getting the E-Tools contract -- they build these things for fun!).

I may wait until the E-Tools update is actually released before I switch over, but I think it's pretty definite that I will be switching over. I still wish that they'd build a "class builder" module, but I'll take what I can get. What I'm thinking I might do is wrap up my current game sticking with 3.0, and then start a new game with 3.5. (To keep jamesbarrett from fretting about Kyriela, I might start the game at 5th level and allow imported characters. We'll see.)

Well Dang, Gotta Go Now, Spent the Money!

Laurie and I are registered for Dragon*Con 2003 and have our room booked. We're currently scheduled to arrive on Friday and leave Monday morning, although we don't have travel arrangements yet. Also, to make life convenient, I put in a request for our rooms to be on the same floor as hantamouse.

Anybody else out there going?
