Vote Six


If you don't like Bush and want to bash the administration, that's fine, go right ahead, that's what the First Amendment is for. I'm not unreservedly fond of the administration myself.

However, to link your daily dose of Bush-bashing to the victims of 9/11 is tacky and wholly inappropriate. You think his political opportunism is abhorrent? Well so is yours.

EDIT: This post was made in response to a wide variety of things I've seen today, not one particular thing. As tygermoonfoxx put it: "Using 9-11 to further the cause instead of honoring the dead and using the attacks as a lesson by which to genuinely increase the safety of the American people is just plain tasteless." On Other Topics...

I haven't quite found the right word I'm looking for ... it's something in the neighborhood of "deconstruction" or "revisionism," but it's neither one of those. But I was thinking of it earlier this week in reference to why I prefer, say, the original Star Trek to later incarnations, or for that matter why I prefer Star Wars: A New Hope to Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Or why Tom Cruise should be kicked in the family jewels for what he did to Mission: Impossible.
