Keenstop Revisited

I feel for those guys, I really do ... and I've come out lucky with the outages until now. But the whole thing is down and out tonight and I can't stay up any longer. So I'm putting my strip Collapse )

Old Data, Can't Update, Le Sigh...

My patience is wearing thin. I was up until 2 a.m. last night trying to get my strip loaded, and it never did go up. And I still can't FTP today's strip to the proper server.

I'm annoyed.

PS: Why is it that Keenspot never flakes on days when all I had to put up was filler anyway? Grrr.

Speaking of Wing Commander...

("I didn't know we were!")

I picked up a copy of the "Wing Commander + Secret Missions 1 and 2 Deluxe CD-ROM" edition on eBay for $8 ($4 of that is shipping); even if I don't ever manage to find a copy of Kilrathi Saga for less than $300, I would at least like to have a copy of the original that won't disintegrate in the box.

Ha! Take THAT!

For the past three days at work, I have been fighting with a pair of nested loops in Cold Fusion that were behaving in extremely erratic ways, and banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why.

Eventually, I just said, "Heck with it!" and wrote a workaround this afternoon -- and it works! Woohoo!

And then, I discover the reaston that the nested loops were behaving erratically is: a bug in the current version of Cold Fusion.

D'Ooooh! *forehead slap*

Anyway, I've drop-kicked that particular problem and I gotta admit, I'm kinda pleased about it. So, yay, me!

Now, back to work! (D'Oh!)

Way Cool! (More Wing Commander, Sorry!)

I downloaded and finagled into working a user-MOD for WCP: Secret Ops called Unknown Enemy. The basic premise is that the Border Worlds have some old, old (as in, WC1 era) ships that are being decommissioned, but that get pulled back into active service due to the Nephilim invasion in Prophecy.

Basically, it's an excuse to fly around WC1 - WC4 ships off of a carrier similar to the Tiger's Claw from WC1, in the up-to-date Prophecy engine.

It took me some tweaking (mostly getting everything set to Compatibility Mode before, during, and after the installation process), but so far it's looking very nice, very nice indeed! I'm jazzed. :)
