Party Guy

Happy Birthday, torakiyoshi!

Alas, I regret to announce that Scumbag the Birthday Clown went on a rampage and ate all of the snickerdoodles he was supposed to give you, so he is currently being disciplined by being tied to a chair and forced to watch a 48-hour "She's the Boss" marathon.

*shudder*

Nevertheless, happy birthday!

Hey!

Reminder: "Father of the Pride" premieres tonight! I'm told that there's a bar called "The Watering Hole" in it.

Leonard's was there first! Not that "The Watering Hole" is exactly an original name for a bar, but still!

I wonder if I should send them a nasty C&D letter? ;P

Actually, what I'd rather have, is advertising. Or a crossover. ;)

I Know The Feeling!

"I would appreciate it if they would call a halt on all their devoted efforts to find a way to abolish war or eliminate disease or run trains with atoms or extend the span of human life to a couple of centuries, and everybody concentrate for a while on how to wake me up in the morning without my resenting it. It may be that a bevy of beautiful maidens in pure silk yellow very sheer gowns, barefooted, singing 'Oh, What a Beautiful Morning' and scattering rose petals over me would do the trick, but I'd have to try it."

Father of the Pride

Didn't suck; not worth going out of my way to see, either.

Blue collar, well-meaning buffoon dad
Wise lovable mom
Grumpy, randy granddad
Wacky neighbors

Been there, done that. It wasn't awful, but why bother to do it again?

More Rex Stout

He straightened up. "Your chief trouble," he said, not offensively, "is that you think you've got a sense of humor. It confuses people, and you ought to get over it. Things strike you as funny. You thought it would be funny to have a talk with Rackham, and it may be all right this time, but someday something that you think is funny will blow your goddam head right off your shoulders."

Only after he had gone did it occur to me that that wouldn't prove it wasn't funny.
--Rex Stout, In the Best of Families

I know so very well where he's coming from!
