Hmm ... this sketchbook is almost full. I'm going to need to get another one soon!

In Frisk's D&D campaign, there's a recurring motif of "a hand reaching out of swirling mists at you," that shows up on book covers, mysterious heraldry, scrolls, and so on. A while back, he asked me to illustrate it ... but "swirling mists" is a pretty hard idea to convey iconically!

Here's what I've come up with.Collapse )

Any comments/suggestions, anyone?

PS: Alternate titles for this post include "Palmistry," "Talk to the Hand," and "Let's have a big hand for D&D!"

Artistic Dopplegangers

Shortly after FC this past year, I saw a couple of guys at a restaurant who looked like dead ringers for Vince (sans his glasses) and Derrick Dasenbrock.

Today at lunch, I saw Jonas (sans his glasses).

At this rate, sometime in June or July I expect to encounter dopplegangers of Thomas Dye, Cooner, Gene Catlow, or possibly Herbie.

Although, now that I think about it, AnthroCon is coming up. Does it count if I see the actual person instead of their double?

-The Gneech <-- looks vaguely like Lee Majors with a goatee
