Eh ... No. :-`

Another Torchwood Trailer.

If this series wasn't a Doctor Who spinoff, I'd have no interest in it. Certainly that trailer makes me roll my eyes and say, "Not again."

So I don't think I'll be watching it. I just hope it doesn't take resources and energy away from Doctor Who.

Well, I've been making rumbling noises about this for a while now, but it starting to act like a real thing so I'll go ahead and post about it. :)

laurie_robey and I are going to try to go to the U.K. in the spring of 2008, particularly in March so we can go to Portmeiricon in Wales. While there, I also hope to spend some time floating around London, maybe see Cambridge, not sure what else. It depends entirely on what our finances will support at that stage. Any bits of Scotland we can fit in will be welcome, too, but we probably won't have more than a week, maybe two, so we can't go too nuts with it all.

I have an uncle (Billy the Player Character who some of you may be familiar with) currently living somewhere in suburbs north of London, but the contract he's working on could end at any time, so I don't know if we'll be able to do any mooching for rooms off of him yet.

The first step, of course, is getting our passports, which we have begun working on. The next step, is to save a bunch of money. The UK is expensive! =:-o Right now one American dollar is only worth £0.53, and while that may change over the next year and a half, I doubt it will change that much, and not necessarily for the better if it did!

Anybody who's familiar with international travel, particularly between the U.S. and the U.K., I'd love to hear your anecdotes or insights into things to be aware of. Also, any of my U.K. buddies who want to connect, start planning now! ;)

And yes, in case you're wondering, I do intend to splurge on Doctor Who toys while I'm there. ;) If I can find any Jazz Butcher CDs, I'll prolly glomp on those, too.

Are You My Mummy? (Revisited)

Watched Doctor Four in Pyramids of Mars this evening as I drew. I didn't realize how much I missed the clipped, aristocratic diction of received pronunciation until I heard it again in bulk, and it is an aspect of both Eccleston and Tennant that drastically weaken the authority of their portrayals of the Doctor, IMO. It's not a dealkiller, but it is a weakness.
