Kero Power Tie

Faw Down Go "Uggghhh..."

Yesterday morning I felt like total crud; headache, congestion, wheezing noises in my lungs, body aches … it was bad. So I called in sick and went back to bed, then spent most of yesterday sleeping or staring into space when I couldn't sleep any more, except for a brief jaunt out at lunchtime, which mainly ended up with me coming home and lying down again. I would periodically think "I should do some laundry while I'm home…" or "I oughta write something…" or "I need to work on the comics…" but always ended up deciding that as I was home sick, I really should just rest.

Apparently, that was the right decision, as I feel much better today. Much, much better, in fact. Heck, I'm practically perky, and given that it's 6:45 a.m., even on the best of days I should be a zombie right now.

So I guess this "rest" stuff actually works, huh? I may try to do it more often.

More Yog-Sothothery

You may recall my post a week or two ago about listening to game session recordings from Yog-Sothoth.com, and trying to work out if I had the fortitude to listen to their Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign.

Well, for those who are curious, I did start listening to it, and it's been growing on me[1]. As a matter of fact, I'm four sessions in now, and the party is wandering around London fighting off strange manifestations of killer fog. So far the campaign is actually working much better than the one-shots were — the players don't seem to be quite as reckless, nor the GM so willing to put them into a "rocks fall, everybody dies" situation.

I managed to find a 4th-edition era copy of Masks of Nyarlathotep on eBay for a reasonable price, and I've been reading slightly ahead as the party has progressed along, which has made for some interesting observations on what they've found, what they've missed, and how the GM is interpreting scenes.

I also noticed that the site's forum had a section on CoC d20 and figured that it would be a good place to get some feedback on Uncanny Midnight Tales, so I signed up and posted a link. I'm curious as to what (if any) response it'll generate; so far the only comment has been "I hate d20, but if I didn't, I'd love your game," which I have to say amuses me greatly. :D
