Word back from the Hope Center today: the test results are not 100% conclusive (that would require a biopsy), but it is very likely not
lymphoma, which was our big fear, but it may be a form of IBD, so he'll be getting vitamin B12 injections and a few other similar treatments. His appetite isn't quite 100% what it should be, but it is definitely stronger than it has been all week and he's eating without vomiting it all right back up again. He's also more energetic today, having done some scratching at the scratch post and actually stepping outside to get some grass.
As you might imagine, this is a huge relief to laurierobey
and me. I admit it — when he actually ate a few mouthfuls of tuna last night, it was all I could do to keep from bawling like a baby with the joy of it.
But hopefully we're through that particular dark night of the soul. We've got "appetite enhancers" to give him every three days to keep him eating, antibiotics a-plenty, oh, and we're still giving him drops for the whatsit in his eye. If the general trend continues, he'll be back to his healthy, sweet-natured self again within a few weeks.
Big thanks to everyone for their well-wishes, and big thanks to whatever benevolent powers there may be for watching over our lil' guy. :)
