Three Good Things About Yesterday

Yesterday KensterFox sent me a link: Rewire Your Brain for Positivity and Happiness Using the Tetris Effect. It's nothing groundbreaking really, pretty standard "power of positive thinking" exercises, most of which I already do. But the timing was apt: I started the day bouncy and full of energy, and was ground down into a stressed-out deflated balloon by the end of it.

Anyway, the only exercise suggested there that I haven't been doing is the "scan your day for three positive things" routine, so I've decided to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could find three positive things to say about yesterday, which in itself lifted my spirits a bit. So in that respect, the exercise was a success.

  1. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Pretty self-explanatory. laurie_robey and I got to get out into it for a few minutes on breaks and at lunchtime.

  2. We went to the gym in the morning, and got frozen yogurt in the evening. We've been kinda struggling to get to the gym, due to late nights and heavy workloads, and that's been tugging at my conscience. So it was a big relief to actually get there for a change, not to mention, y'know, the health benefits thereof. As for the frozen yogurt, that was purely a treat, 'cos we needed one.

  3. I penciled half a page of the new comic, and I'm pleased with it. Ker-preview. I'm having a lot of fun with the new comic, and on the whole I've been very happy with how it's coming out. While I hope for it to be popular and sell well, as long as I keep having fun doing it, I win. :)

So that's yesterday's three good things. I haven't made enough progress into today to have a report yet, but I'll try to have something tonight.

Today's Three Good Things

  1. Buddha was very playful this morning and we had a lot of fun romping around.

  2. We had a very tasty lunch.

  3. I managed to get in some fun with the #TwitterPonies, even though I thought I wasn't going to be able to.

  4. BONUS: I've prompted three other people into doing this little exercise, just by mentioning it! :D

Not world-shakers perhaps, but they don't have to be. They just have to be good things. :)

Now, I'm calling it a night. :) Gnite, world, and have an awesome tomorrow.
