The bad news is, I haven't done any drawing to speak of since Monday. But in my defense, it's been one hay of a week. My new drawing table/desk came and we rearranged the entire main floor of the house around it, which included shifting a metric boatload of books, papers, a bookshelf, and the old OMG HUGE drafting table out of the way. We lost an evening to parental visitage. I'm in the midst of getting a crown on my tooth and we got a new bed installed. In short... ALL the things happened this week.

Yesterday was the delightful cherry on top of all this, however, when (while out shopping for one more piece of furniture and several long cables to complete the studio setup) we got into a traffic accident, T-boning a car which we thought was turning in as we were pulling out.

Ouch. -.-

The good news is that nobody was seriously hurt and neither car was trashed, but New Bruce's nose is bent out of shape and the other people's car how has a Murano-shaped dent in the rear passenger-side wheel well. And we have to deal with cops, insurance, and renting a car while we get repairs.

We followed all that up with spending the evening out in the tiny little village of Aldie at a lovely farm where a co-worker was getting married. It was an outdoor ceremony, not the most comfortable of ideas in the depths of summer, but at least it was a beautiful sunny day and the reception and dinner were inside. The highlight of the event (IMO) was the belly dancer who was randomly wearing a lit candelabra on her head. (Wha...?) The bride, it seems, is a member of a belly-dancing club, and this was one of her pals from same.

So, yeah. laurie_robey and I are a bit exhausted today. However, we were not so exhausted that we couldn't get to the gym and hit workout 12/12, boom!

Oh, Skippy the Wonder Scale. You so crazy. :D

Now I did say I would throw a party at 12/12, as that means a solid month of uninterrupted gym visits, and I still plan to. But... not today. Today, I need to a) rest and b) draw. So that's what I intend to do. But I am pleased at all the progress that's been made, and, as I mentioned the other day, with the complete lack of emotional crashes in the past month. The closest I had to that could have been best described as "a minor bump," and was the result of not getting enough sleep.

Contrast this with six weeks ago, and things are looking up in a big way. I'm very pleased.

Now, to shower. And possibly nap.
