My tweets Thu, 13:24 : I think I may have let my ramen steep too long. #NotAEuphemism #OrIsIt Thu, 13:39 : Levelling is so pointless in MMOs. -.- #LotRO especially. :P Thu, 13:41 : 1st level: fighting 1st level goblins. 70th level: fighting 70th level goblins. Whee. Thu, 13:43 : The only reason everybody puts levelling in, is that everybody puts levelling in. :P It was good for D&D, but it’s not good for everything. Thu, 13:45 : Of course, in D&D terms, nobody in Lord of the Rings was higher than 6th level anyway. Lots of people don’t get that. Thu, 13:46 : Elves in the Silmarillion were probably up to the 9th-10th level range. Thu, 13:51 : Glorfindel: 10th level elf paladin. Maybe. 5th level upon his resurrection. Going to Mandos takes it out of an elf. Thu, 13:53 : Calibrating your expectations w/ D&D: http://t.co/o0a1oqi1rq Thu, 13:59 : OTOH, other genres have different ranges… “The Avengers” start around level 8 and go up. Thu, 14:04 : So what would I do w/ my dream MMO? Probably -some- sort of levelling mechanic to represent training, but on a smaller scale. Thu, 14:05 : Most character advancement would be done via learning new skills, and/or equipment. Emphasis would be on gameplay, not power grind. Thu, 14:06 : However, I also realize that my dream MMO could easily be snubbed by all the n00bpwners, and thus make no money. I’m fine with that. Thu, 14:13 : My dream MMO would probably also have a team of GMs, whose job it would be to keep coming up with new content in a particular zone. Thu, 14:14 : Each zone would have its own continuity & history, with old quests removed and new ones added on a regular basis. It would be dynamic. Thu, 14:14 : Without levelling, you don’t have to worry about scaling the content all the time and so on; content is always “on level." Thu, 14:15 : You could move from zone to zone, or just “stay home” in an area you like. Thu, 14:16 : Emerald Vale this month is different from Emerald Vale last month, because some NPC has died, or new buildings are being added... Thu, 14:16 : There were goblins down in the mines last month, but adventurers wiped them all out. On the other hand, griffons just migrated from the N. Thu, 14:17 : Maybe, I never played one of those. But w/ graphics. /RT @Kingdomcub : sounds like you're looking for an RP message board from the late 90s Thu, 15:01 : RT @ClimateDesk : New Jersey bans Tesla to ensure buying a car will always suck http://t.co/vdYMg2Mwdj via @wired Thu, 20:08 : Find Me at Fur the 'More!: http://t.co/l1woMKHPg3 Thu, 20:21 : RT @DatBirdbrain : *pings @NEligahn , @Inkblitzer , @the_gneech and any other Trekkie friends I have!* http://t.co/RuakuBDbyf Thu, 20:29 : In my pony art, Rarity is usually my favorite; she’s also the one people buy prints of least. Philestines! Thu, 20:29 : Welp, I don’t care. I’m making prints of Rarity, and any that don’t sell are going on my own wall. :P Thu, 20:42 : RT @SteveStreza : One of my hobbies is to search Twitter for “I lost the game” and fave tweets from a few days ago, so if they see the fave,… Thu, 21:24 : This post was made for @laurierobey http://t.co/NiQH8hCMeo Thu, 21:42 : Hey! Somebody recommend to me a good high fantasy novel (y’know, w/ elves and dwarves and dragons etc) that isn’t by Tolkien. :) Thu, 21:42 : Female protagonist preferred but will entertain others if the book is good enough. Thu, 22:02 : Wow, @BlackNerd loves his Smurfs! :D Thu, 22:49 : My charity auction donation for @FurtheMore #FMCon2014 http://t.co/oLiKmnG3g9 Thu, 22:54 : And now, to bed. Leaving for Baltimore in the a.m.! Gnite world, and have an awesome tomorrow. :) Thu, 22:57 : Somewhere in Pittsburgh, a lonely crosswalk sign says, “Penn Avenue. Walk sign is on to cross, Penn Avenue."
