Gauche as it may be to reply without having actually watched the video (music playing at the moment. "OhPonyBoy's Find My Place" and "Squirrelnies" at the moment), for me, LJ's always remained a frustratingly busy place. It's maybe different for others, but I can easily spend an hour or two every day reading and replying - if I leave it for as long as a week, it all turns into train wreck of scheduling, with me trying to deal with the original backlog, while a new one builds up. ^_^;

In any event, I'm feeling pleased at finally having not only got completely caught up with LJ friends, but even getting my latest entry published, after rather too long a pause, even if it grew to the length where I may need to offer a modestly priced paper edition. =:)

Okay, now I have seen their promo - it's actually really good! It's obvious who they're poking at, of course. Myself, I'll never go near Facebook, for their voracious datamining ways, and Twitter.. eh, it works, but FSM, trying to conduct any kind of actual discussion there is a royal pain, even without that confounded 140 character limit.

The threading was worth noting, yes - that's something I've long enjoyed with LJ. And they even pointed out that entries (not just accounts, though that could've been clearer) can be assigned security individually, whether friends-only, everyone, or any particular group of friends.

Is LJ actually ad-free for everyone now? O.o I always thought free accounts here had to enjoy those in lieu of payment. If so, cool beans! Advertising on the web's so damnably omnipresent, without the use of ad blockers, and so rarely of use - AdWords helps only Google. Project Wonderful, though, I happily whitelist, as I've discovered quite a few interesting comics through them. I so wish there were more activity spent in that kind of "intelligent" advertising, where there's genuine attention paid to the audience.

Wow... so, a positive message and all, but it feels like it's carefully dancing around this biiiiiig elephant-shaped bedsheet here in the middle of the room printed with: "heeeyyy, remember, it's easy to be an anonymous troll, too, if that's what takes you."
