Well, the cicadas are out in force now; the ones buzzing around now, besides being more numerous, are also considerably more active and definitely more durable than the ones that were out last week. Walking around outside is an adventure in trying to avoid being bonked into, dropped on, or otherwise accosted by the goofy little buggers. They're not exactly what you'd call a swarm, but they do rather remind one of heavy traffic.
The regular garden-variety cicadas that come out every year are also out now, thrumming twice as loud as usual in order to be heard over the constant phaser warble. Unfortunately for them, they're losing the battle.
