Why? Fie!

After a bit of finagling last night, I managed to get the WiFi card for my Clié and headed over to Panera for lunch today to make use of their complimentary hotspot. I figured, "Hey, this'll be cool, I'll update my LJ via the Clié!"

Well, nothing doing.

The card itself works, but the setup has two big problems.

The first is that it's slow. Really slow. Really, really, really slow. Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, slow.

Did I mention it was slow?

The second, is that the browser chokes on every other page and says, "Invalid content (internal error)."

Like the LJ page.

And Comcast's webmail page.

And most other pages I would have any reason to look at via the Clié.

I'm guessing that the Clié's built-in browser can't handle Javascript -- but instead of doing the sensible thing and just ignoring it, the browser instead chokes and prevents you from doing anything.

So I'm investigating these issues now to see what I can figure out. To you other Clié users out there ... do you have these problems? And if so, what do you do about them?
