My question is, in a nutshell, how do you feel about cheesecake? laurie_robey and I were watching Real Bout High School this morning, which is a very fun but very very silly anime about a high school where student fighting has been raised to the level of spectator sport, with announcers, TV coverage, and the school principal himself being the head referee.
But, and I'm not going to be delicate here, it's also about jiggly bits. 0.o And shot composition that shows you every little contour of that panty while the sword-wielding chick in the miniskirt goes flying through the air.
Now, being a western male, I've been socialized to simultaneously have two polar opposite reactions to this kind of thing. One is the Beavis-and-Buttheadey reaction of "Heheheheh, panty shot, heheheheh, boobies, heheheheh!" The other is the Sensitive New Age Guy reaction of "HEY! That's so degrading to women! You should be ASHAMED of yourselves for making this show! You PIGS!" Both carry with them the threat of complete and utter ostricization from people who you'd rather stay in the good graces of if you choose wrong, making it a tough world for guys to grow up in. Woe!
(Of course, being a cartoonist, my actual reaction is neither of these. My reaction is "BWAHAHAHA! That's funny! And whoa, nice shading on that mons veneris!" But I'm an oddball.)
Anyway, I'm very curious, what do you people out there think about this kind of thing? And also, while I'm at it, what do you think of the level of cheese (or lack thereof) in Suburban Jungle? Tiffany is all about being sultry, for instance, but Comfort has been known to go bouncing around the room ... is that a good thing? A bad thing? Fine in small doses but easily overdone?
For that matter, you can apply the same questions to beefcake if you're so inclined. Inquiring minds want to know!
